What a Feeling: Carscoop Reader Takes Lexus LFA for a Spin around Silverstone

Say what you want about the Lexus LFA and whether or not it is worth the hefty $375k sticker price; if you're a true-blue petrol head and you were given the opportunity to get behind the LFA's wheel for a lap around a professional circuit, you'd do it in a heartbeat no matter what you thought about the car.

And that opportunity came for Carscoop reader Jean-Luc Cartwright from Britain who was able to drive the V10-powered Lexus LFA at the Silverstone racetrack in England.

Sold: One Brand-New Porsche 959 Sport with Just 207 Miles on the Odo

In 1986, it was the fastest street-legal car in the world with a top speed of 199 mph (320 km/h). Initially designed to compete in the Group B World Rally Championship, the road version was of the most technologically advanced car anyone had ever seen at the time. It remained in production for just three years, and only 337 units rolled out of Porsche's factory.

It is of course the 450HP 959, Porsche's 911-based, high-tech all-wheel drive answer to the raw Ferrari F40 in the late 1980s, and it changed the way supercars were built from that point on.

Now, if you were lucky one to own one of automotive history’s most vaunted icons, what would you do?

Video: One Very Caring Motorcyclist

Here's some proof that you don't have to be an inconsiderate driver (you can replace the description with something more R-rated if you'd like…) to make headlines.

A UK motorcyclist's simple gesture of stopping between a Ford Ka and a Toyota Avensis estate to open the latter's closed passenger-side mirror while giving a thumbs up to the driver after his deed, has garnered more than 60,000 views on Youtube in less than 24 hours after it was uploaded.

You can watch it for yourself right after the break.

Rumors: McLaren Planning to Launch Iconic F1 Successor as Early as 2012

Since the launch of the MP4-12C, McLaren has made it pretty much clear that it plans to establish itself as a serious sports carmaker and gain a full range of models that will cover the entire supercar spectrum.

Now it seems that the British car manufacturer is moving up its schedule, as according to a report from British magazine Autocar, it will launch a successor to the iconic F1 of the 1990s in 2012 – that’s one year earlier than expected. Perhaps the reason is to coincide with the original F1's 20-year anniversary.

Rare RHD 1972 Lamborghini Miura SV Hits the Auction Block

Enzo Ferrari might have not known it at the time, but when he famously dismissed Feruccio Lamborghini as a “tractor manufacturer”, he planted the seed for the creation of not just a single beautiful vehicle, but a whole class of supercars.

The Lamborghini Miura was launched in 1966 and stunned everyone not only with its design, but also with its specifications. TomTom's Jeremy Clarkson Voice Pack Axed over BBC Contract Breach!

Well, at least General Motors isn’t the only one making apologies today. BBC admitted that its deal with TomTom to release TopGear-branded navigation system voiced by the show’s famously sardonic host, Jeremy Clarkson, violated its own editorial guidelines.

More specifically, section 15, article 4, paragraph 7 states that:

“Those working on consumer programs must take particular care not to endorse any product or service which could be covered in the programs on which they work and they should have no commercial or other links which could appear to influence their BBC work”.
