Fiat Group Loses Big in Europe, Hits a 20-Year Low Mark in Italy

Old Lancia Stratos Meets New in San Marino Rally [Video]


More than a dozen examples of the classic Lancia Stratos in both production and rally trims met up with the one-off New Stratos at the recent 2011 Rally Legend Event in San Marino.

The New Stratos was commissioned by wealthy German car enthusiast Michael Stoschek and built by Italian design house Pininfarina. Performance.

The new Stratos, as a racing version of its predecessor, is largely aimed - in every detail - for a lightweight structure and performance. This is not surprising that the product was a very ambitious in this sense as well.

Lower vehicle weight, excellent balance and precision chassis components made possible by the rigid body, it is intended not only to provide an exciting driving experience, but to get measurable results in the form of objective data.

Since work on the new Stratos continues almost without interruption until the presentation at Le Castellet, and time has not offered the opportunity to test the performance, must be made as soon as possible.

We expect power to weight ratio less than 2.3 kg / hp with an acceleration time from 0-100 km / h in 3.3 seconds and 0-200 km / h in 9.7 seconds. We expect full marks for braking performance and a reference position in the 18 - and 36-meter slalom and handling similar tests.
