Scion iQ 2012 Review

Scion announced that its 2012 premium micro-compact car iQ will start arriving in dealerships in October 2011. Scion iQ is only 10 feet long yet seats four people, making it the world's smallest four-seater.

"The iQ is the fourth member of the family, and will define the micro-premium sub-compact segment as the election of the new urbanites who want intelligent transportation without sacrificing style or new features.

Meeting the needs of a new generation of futuristic urban drivers, the iQ manages to have great ideas and are concentrated in a small package. Possible thanks to intelligent packaging and functional, the iQ is a small car that offers comfort and functionality that drivers expect from a car twice its size.

Intelligent Design, do not sacrifice

Instead of sacrificing functionality or comfort to reduce the footprint, the iQ is based on intelligent design. Six of the design innovations are responsible for the ability of the iQ to be small in size but large capacity. Front differential compact, rack-mount high power control electronic control and a compact air conditioning units all have a significant reduction in the length of the front. In addition, the iQ has a gas tank under the floor is flat, which is to reduce the rear overhang. The engine is mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that can provide smooth acceleration and excellent performance. The iQ is classified as Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle (ULEV-II) and carries an EPA-estimated combined fuel economy rating of 37 miles per gallon, comparable to similar vehicles of its size.

To be considered a premium micro-subcompact, the Scion iQ comes with safety features that drivers expect and demand. The iQ is filled with industry-leading 11 standard airbags, including first rear window airbag. Other airbag airbags for driver and front passenger airbags, driver and front passenger side seatmounted, side curtain airbags, driver's knee airbag and front passenger and driver and front passenger seat Scion first airbag.

The rear seats are extremely versatile, with a 50/50 split and the ability to fold, creating sufficient storage to accommodate large suitcases. Impressive sound with Bluetooth ® and HD Radio ™ Technology

The iQ really focuses on youth with its new standard AM / FM / CD / HD / USB Pioneer 160-watt maximum output ™ audio system. Standard features on all 2012 offspring include Bluetooth connectivity, allowing both hands free connection, and streaming audio and HD radio. Streaming audio allows mobile phones and devices compatible personal hand in hand with the audio system and deliver music through the car audio system. The audio system also includes an organic electroluminescent (OEL) screen with a customizable home screen, an iPod ® / USB connectivity, Advanced Sound Retriever (ASR) and a subwoofer RCA output. The universal USB port and auxiliary (AUX) port is located in the center console, allowing users to listen to their portable music collection through four Pioneer speakers iQ.

The optional 200-watt maximum output Pioneer Premium audio system has the same features as the standard Pioneer audio, but is reinforced with a 5.8-inch touchscreen LCD, labeling with iTunes ®, Pandora ® Internet radio online through their iPhone ®-six RCA outputs for adding external amplifiers.

A Scion audio navigation system is also available for drivers in the city who want the convenience to easily find your way around the city. The SNS 200 200-watt system has all the characteristics of audio systems and high quality standard, but adds a navigation system and DVD player that can be accessed through a user-friendly display of seven-inch LCD touch screen. Navigation features include a global positioning satellite (GPS) with the United States and Canada full coverage map, and more advice to millions of points of interest.

The three sound systems to retain key Scion audio system features such as Scion Sound Processing ® (SSP) where listeners can choose from three preset equalizer settings, satellite radio compatibility, MP3 and WMA. In addition, all devices can adjust the volume based on speed.

Price

The 2012 Scion iQ will begin arriving at dealerships in the West Coast this October. The car will be available in other parts of the country since early 2012. The suggested retail price (MSRP) for the 2012 Scion iQ is $ 15,265. The delivery, processing and handling (DPH) fee for all Scion models is $ 730 and is not included in the MSRP. DPH fee for vehicles distributed by Southeast Toyota (SET) and Gulf States Toyota (GST) may vary.
